LAHORE, Pakistan (TheSportsNEXT) October 26, 2012: The Lahore Disabled cricket team clinched the title of National Disabled One-Day Cricket Championship after beating Karachi Disabled cricket team by 13 runs in the final, which was reduced to only 10 overs because of rain on other day at Lahore Gymkhana Ground in Lahore.







The tournament was organized by The Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association Recognized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Karachi won the toss and choice to field first. Lahore put on board 88-4 in 10 overs. Hasnain Alam played an aggressive inning of 46 runs coming off only 31 balls. His inning included five boundaries and a six. Left aram Spinner Riasat Ali claimed two wickets for Karachi.

Karachi in reply made 75-4 in 10 overs, conceding a 13-run defeat. Captian Danish Ahmed was the top scorer with 35 runs including 4 boundaries and a six for the visitors.

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was chief guest on the occasion of prize distribution ceremony in presence of correspondent of Pakistan Cricket Board former test cricketer Aga Zahid, Vice Presdent Lahore City Cricket Association, Former Test Cricketer Manzoor Elahi, Former International Umpire Rab Nawaz, Honorary Secretary Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association Amir Uddin Ansari, Joint Secretary and Media Manager Muhammad Nizam, Chief Coach Fareed Uddin and others.

Chief Guest Inzamam-ul-Haq said on the occasion that he was impressed by the efforts of Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA). “I am very much impressed by these cricketers and I extend my full support for disabled cricket. I congratulate organizers for holding such an amazing tournament”, Inzamam said.

The former prolific batsmen also praised the disabled cricketers for their efforts and he hoped that these players will keep bringing laurels for the country.

Earlier, Honorary Secretary PDCA thanked the all the guests and media persons for coverage of the tournament.
