The Fallen Hero Kevin Pietersen
LONDON (TheSportsNext) September 3, 2012: Things started looking better for England cricket team on Monday when some English cricketers said they would welcome the fallen hero Kevin Pietersen back in the fold.

The England and Wales Cricket Board had dropped Kevin Pietersen from all squads after he developed serious differences with former skipper Andrew Strauss and other teammates.

Following the KP episode, Andrew Strauss announced his retirement from all forms of cricket but denied Kevin Pietersen having an impact on his decision.

Kevin Pietersen: Ready to shed retirement?
However, as Kevin is looking to mend ways and called on coach Andy Flower, the English cricketers have decided to give him another chance to be a good boy in the team.

Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara told SkySportsNews on Monday that they were hoping to see the maestro back in the squad.

Morgan said, "I think everybody would like to see him back. I think the general public love watching him play, and the cricketing world do as well."

LONDON (TheSportsNext) August 29, 2012: England Test captain Andrew Strauss, on Wednesday, announced his retirement from all professional cricket after deliberation of a week following England’s fall from number one spot in the ICC Test Rankings.

England’s captain in One Day Internationals, Alastair Cook has replaced Strauss in the Test format after the retirement.

Andrews Strauss made the announcement in a press conference on Tuesday where he dispelled the impression that Kevin Pietersen episode had anything to do with his decision.

During a 10-year international career, Andrew Strauss, 35, represented England in 100 Test matches scoring 7037 runs at an average of 40.91 besides hitting 21 Test centuries, only one behind England’s record holder Geoff Boycott, Colin Cowdrey, and Wally Hammond.

Andew Strauss proved one of the most successful England Test captains as he resurrected an indisciplined side to a level where it won 24 out of 50 Test matches played under him.
