AMRITSAR, India (TheSportsNEXT) December 3, 2012: Pakistani kabaddi team defeated uncertainty and Sierra Leone in a confident fashion on Monday as they began their 3rd World Kabaddi Cup campaign off to classy start.


There were question marks hanging on Pakistan’s participation in the World Kabaddi Cup in Indian Punjab but the neighbouring Kabaddi players eventually made it through the Wagah-Attari land border route.

In their first match of the competition played in Hoshiarpur, Pakistan Kabaddi team, which is one of the favorites to win the title, defeated Sierra Leone by 52-12 in a one-sided affair.

Talking to this scribe, Pakistani kabaddi players said that only 16 players were issued Indian visas as against the request for 20 visas but they were confident of beating the very best in the sport in India.

A total of 15 countries are fighting it out for the Kabaddi World Cup title across the Indian Punjab from December 1-15, 2012.
