LONDON, England (TheSportsNEXT) November 4, 2012: Struggling to cope with fitness issues facing fast bowler Steven Finn, England cricket team management has ordered Stuart Meaker, Surrey pacer, in India ahead of the first Test match which begins on November 15 in Ahmadabad.

The emergency call-up indicates that Steven Finn, who suffered a groin strain during the first warm-up game of the tour, won’t make it for the first Test as the 23-year-old Surrey man was due to fly to India on Saturday.

Subject to obtaining the Indian visa, Stuart Meaker will present his credentials for a Test call-up in the final warm-up game before the Test series opener.

England’s team management is yet to make public the results of the scans that Steven Finn went through the other day and they announced Graham Onions as the fast bowler’s replacement for the second warm-up game but changed their mind later on and asked for the reinforcement.

The second warm-up game will be played at Ahmadabad against Haryana from November 8 and England have shown little intent in making fast bowler Stuart Broad play in either of the games.

It is important to mention here that Stuart Meaker, another cricketer with South African background after Kevin Pietersen, has played two One Day Internationals and is regarded as one of the fastest bowlers to be found in England as he bowled the fastest delivery ever recorded at England’s National Cricket Performance Center at Loughborough.

Stuart Meaker stole the limelight of all and sundry during the 2012 Championship season when he captured 44 scalps at an average of 22.56 and strike rate of 38.7 in 10 games played for Surrey.
