LONDON, England (TheSportsNEXT) October 3, 2012: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday slapped a 12 weeks ban on Pakistani off-spinner Abdur Rehman under its anti-doping rules after he was tested positive for the cannabis use.

Abdur Rehman, who made England county debut with Somerset this year, came up with stunning performances and was also a main weapon in Pakistan’s victory in Test series against England in United Arab Emirates last year.

The penalty, which takes effect from midnight of December 21, has already forced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to withdraw his name from Sialkot Stallions squad for the Champions League Twenty20 2012.
